THE STORY BEHIND OUR NAME
The brand takes its name from the hand-painted and printed cotton that carried India's artistry across the world in the 17th and 18th centuries. A fabric so popular that France and England banned it in the late 1600s/1700s to save the local mills. Chintz is prized for its vivid colours and intricate detail and has been India's most influential design export.
A forest is never still. Through every season it transforms—new blooms, new colours, new life emerging where the old once stood, yet always rooted in the same soil. That is the spirit we borrow: a living, ever-changing canopy of craft, where something new is always waiting to be discovered.
More than a name, it's a philosophy: steeped in heritage, craftsmanship reimagined, and a story ever-unfolding.

Where Every Detail Matters
Every Forest of Chintz creation begins by hand.
Every bead is placed with intention.
Every texture is built layer by layer.
Rooted in legacy, our creations are brought to life by skilled artisans using centuries-old techniques, including zardozi, kamdani, and other forms of intricate surface embellishment. These traditional techniques are combined with sculptural construction, contemporary materials, and innovative finishes to create statement pieces that feel timeless. Each creation has behind it countless hours of craftsmanship, precision, and artistry—transforming traditional techniques into modern wearable art.
